Blocking Reports When They Are Not Paid For or Signed
Inspector Toolbelt gives you full control over when clients and agents can view your inspection reports. With this optional feature, you can automatically block report access until payment has been received, the inspection agreement has been signed, or both. This helps protect your work and ensures critical steps are completed before the report is delivered.
How It Works:
When this setting is enabled:
-
If payment is required, the report will remain inaccessible until the invoice is paid.
-
If an agreement is required, the report will be locked until the client signs it.
-
If both are required, access will only be granted once both steps are completed.
Blocked reports display a notice to the client explaining what action is still needed before they can view the report.
How to Enable or Disable the Feature:
1) Log in to your Inspector Toolbelt dashboard.
2) Click on the “Settings” tab.
3) Locate the section titled “Report Access Restrictions.”
4) Check the appropriate box(es) to:
-
-
Block reports until payment is received
-
Block reports until the agreement is signed
-
Block reports until both are complete
-

Important Notes:
-
You can still manually override report access by manually marking the inspection as “paid” and/or the agreement as “signed”
- You as the inspector would not have access either, so you will want to use the report preview to view the report if it is blocked still
