When you are adding comments to a template or an inspection, you should take a minute to consider whether you would be better off creating a global comment instead.
There are a few benefits to global comments. The greatest benefit is that your comments will still be there for use, even if you later delete an inspection or template that was using this comment. You can also create a shortcut code that will let you pull up the comment in any situation and add it to an inspection report. There is also the option to set the comment up as a limitation.
Having global comments also helps you to have consistent wording throughout all your templates and reports.
To start creating your own global comments, just go to “Comments” in the menu, and click “New +”.
Another option is to create a global comment from within an inspection. Write your comment in the inspection card, and then hit Update Global as shown in the picture below. This will add your comment to your comment library.
