Presentation in real estate office

Why Should You Do a Presentation at a Real Estate Office?

As a home inspector, you know there are some things that are essential to a successful home inspection business. Any good inspector and business owner will be skilled in the profession, use up-to-date technology, be able to communicate well with clients and agents, and focus on marketing to expand business.

Marketing can be done in many ways. An excellent, but often neglected method, is delivering real estate office presentations. If you can impress a bunch of real estate agents, they may help bring in a ton of clients to your business. Let’s discuss how you can make an amazing presentation!

What Real Estate Agents Meet About

Many real estate agents are part of an office, even if they do the majority of the work on their own and outside of the office. If they have an office as their home base, likely there are meetings carried out regularly, perhaps weekly.

During these meetings, agents may discuss sales strategies and goals, potential clients, negotiations, continuing education, and other information necessary to agents’ roles. Most agents would much rather be out in the field interacting with clients and homes than be stuck in these meetings. So when you do a presentation, it has to really capture their interest!

Components of a Winning Presentation

PICK AN INTERESTING TOPIC

There are endless topics that you can choose from for your presentation. The key is to make your presentation based on what you know well and can speak enthusiastically about. In addition to what is listed below, check out Inspector Toolbelt’s FREE PowerPoint presentations that can assist you with your presentation. Below is a list of several topics that you might like:

  • Benefits of inspection software you use
  • Common home defects
  • Why home inspections are necessary
  • Inspection issues that have easy fixes
  • Latest construction trends in your area
  • Home energy options
  • Benefits of marketing on social media

It may be helpful to speak to the broker ahead of time to better know what to present to their office in particular. You could even let them choose from one of your presentation subjects.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS

If you want real estate agents to respect you as a professional, look like a professional. This does not mean you need to wear a dress shirt and necktie, but it is a good idea to wear clothes that represent your company well. Make sure they are clean and pressed. If you have a uniform you usually wear on inspections, wear that. If not, maybe a nice pair of casual dress pants and a shirt or blouse.

FOOD WINS HEARTS

Who doesn’t love food? Bringing food for real estate agents to munch on during your presentation will help them be more engaged, and at the very least, like you more! Bagels, fruit, cheese platters, or pastries are all great ideas. Call beforehand, and find out if there are any allergies or dietary restrictions. This can help you avoid awkward situations like bringing a box of donuts to an office filled with people on a sugar-free diet.

TALK ABOUT THEM, NOT JUST YOU

While it is important to give an introduction about you and your business, do not make the whole presentation about you. This is the time to educate the agents about something useful to them. When presenting your topic, you can show them you are knowledgeable about what they need to be successful in the industry.

BRING BRANDED GIFTS

You want real estate agents to remember you. What better way for them to remember your name and business logo than having some cool little items branded with them. Here are some items that can be useful to the realtor:

  • Coloring books (great to give to kids at open houses)
  • Hand sanitizer mini bottles
  • Coffee mugs
  • Keyrings
  • Notebooks
  • Pens
